Hi, I’m Fiona

Welcome. I’m a holistic psychotherapist based in the Yarra Valley providing empathic, integrative, evidence-based mental health care, helping you grow, heal, and evolve.

I’m a mother, a nature lover, a writer and a soul searcher.
I feel deeply, I love life, and I ask the big questions.

I was a sensitive and soulful child, always curious about the world and our place in it. I was a wild and adventurous free spirit.

After a serious childhood accident, my dad taught me to meditate. This awakened in me an inner quest, and so began a journey into my inner world, navigating the inner terrain of the mind, and learning about the mind-body connection.

I always knew I wanted to work with people, so I studied psychology at University. But I found the medical model and cognitive approach to be limiting.

I always knew there was more…

After I graduated, I travelled the world for a few years, living in different cultures, studying with masters and learning traditional ways and other healing modalities. I travelled the world for a few years living in different countries and different cultures…

I became more interested in a holistic and spiritual approach to wellbeing, and the connection between mind, body, and energy psychology.

I studied mind-body healing, energy psychology, meditation and transpersonal counselling. I became more influenced by psychologists and philosophers such as Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell.

I travelled in Europe, and studied macrobiotics, and organic farming and diet and health. I travelled around India and Nepal and studied Yoga and meditation and natural healing.

I searched for answers to the profound, such as Who are we? How do we stay centred and true to ourselves while navigating life? How do we stay grounded and connected to our spiritual selves?

The answers I came up with were both simple and profound….

We are here to love, and to connect.
There is a web of life that connects us all.

There is a consciousness flowing through each of us. We are guardians of an essence of the Divine. This consciousness is influenced by our mind, emotions, energy and psyche.

To care for our Soul we need a holistic approach, which includes our mental wellbeing but also tends to our emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

When I returned to Australia I studied a Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental therapies. Shiatsu is a deep meditation and healing of the body.

I practised as a Shiatsu therapist and meditation teacher for many years. During this time I was also working with Tarot and symbolism and Jungian psychology.

I then continued my psychology training with a Graduate Diploma of Counselling, and continued on to complete a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I found studying Psychotherapy to be the holistic approach I had been seeking… I found this to be a combination of all of the studies I had previously done.

Studying the effects of trauma on the brain and the neurobiology of trauma and attachment theory helped me to understand so much of my previous trainings.

I now have clinical, evidence-based approaches to tend to the mental health needs of my clients, and also the other more holistic approaches to nurture the spiritual aspects of self.

Mental health is mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical – we are all of these things…

I have less focus on diagnosis and illness, and more emphasis on empowering my clients to grow and evolve into the best version of themselves – overcoming limiting thoughts, subconscious patterns, and trauma.

Our healing journey is a process of peeling back the layers, and increasing our conscious awareness.

I believe that we are all interconnected through an invisible web, and as we heal ourselves we create ripples of change in the world.

The healing journey is one of coming home to self and integrating all the parts back together. Back to a sense of wholeness and authentic connection.

Until we make the unconscious conscious,

it will direct our lives and we will call it fate.

– Carl Jung

Holistic psychotherapy –

move into alignment with your higher self, access inner wisdom, inner healing, clear cobwebs and unhook from subconscious patterns.

He who looks outside dreams,

He who looks within awakens.

– Carl Jung

When I’m not working, you’ll find me with my dogs, walking in the forest, being creative and spending time with family and friends.

I love my work as a psychotherapist, and I am honoured to share the healing journey with my clients.

My intention is always to serve my clients with love, presence and respect.

I’m committed to my own personal growth, healing and therapy, to continue to unravel the layers, so I can be the best version of me.

I bring to my clinical practice the wisdom and teachings of over 25 years of study from cutting-edge neuroscience and quantum physics, traditional Eastern philosophy, and Buddhist psychotherapy.
