Work with me to discover your true self

My philosophy about therapy

The therapeutic process can help find a sense of purpose and meaning, promote growth, and enhance your quality of life.

Therapy is a space to contemplate. It helps you deepen your understanding of self, relationship to others, and how you relate to the world around you.

Our relationship to self and others and the world around us may be influenced and sometimes distorted by past experiences, unresolved traumas or our social, cultural or psychological background.

In a world that is constantly asking us to be more, to be better and to change …. Life can get overwhelming and we can lose ourselves in the process.

Therapy is the place where you can slow down, process the world, rediscover who you are and emerge with a new sense of wellness and wisdom.

Our body and our nervous system hold all of the imprints of the past and can become disregulated. Through mindfulness, somatic therapy and deep presence, we can calm and regulate the nervous system to build resilience and wellness, to meet life with an open heart.

I work with children, teens, adults and couples, from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a therapy to navigate mental health conditions and emotional challenges, helping to resolve presenting symptoms and also resolve the underlying causes.

Psychotherapy works on the premise that our subconscious mind affects our behaviour thoughts and emotions. Working with memories and feelings that are outside of our conscious awareness can have profound effect on our sense of self and general wellbeing.

Unprocessed trauma and emotion can cause an internal split and a lack of coherence in the neural pathways. Psychotherapy helps to rewire the brain to develop new neural pathways, for greater balance, health and wellbeing.

There are many approaches to psychotherapy- I employ an integrated approach drawing from different teachings and philosophies; cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, embodiment, nervous system regulation, family systems theory, attachment theory, boundaries, energy psychology, and
mindfulness.

“Fiona is an amazing psychotherapist, and especially good with young people. She builds their confidence
and asks exactly the right questions at the right time, going deep into the heart of the problems that they
are grappling with. She also keeps them emotionally safe during this deep work, and contains the way that
they experience the session. I’m so grateful that we found her”
